BELMONT, North Carolina, June 20, 2024 – Piedmont Lithium (“Piedmont” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq: PLL; ASX: PLL), a leading North American supplier of lithium products critical to the U.S. electric vehicle supply chain, today announced that additional high-grade drill results at North American Lithium (“NAL”) in Quebec continue to demonstrate the potential for a significant upgrade to the mineral resource estimate. These new drill results follow similar assay results released in May 2024.
The 2023-2024 drill program has identified multiple, new, high-grade lithium zones beyond the planned pit shell model, with intercepts at thicker and higher grades than previously encountered. Mineralization within the pit shell model has shown continuity and consistency in grade and thickness. An additional 30,000 meters of exploration drilling at NAL is planned for 2024.
NAL is the largest lithium operation in North America and is jointly owned by Piedmont (25%) and Sayona Mining Limited (75%). The operation has continued to achieve quarterly record spodumene concentrate volumes since restarting production in March 2023 and is targeting steady-state production in H2 2024.
“The latest drill results underscore the importance of North American Lithium as the only lithium mine in North America producing IRA-compliant spodumene concentrate,” said Keith Phillips, President and Chief Executive Officer of Piedmont Lithium. “The continued positive results of the NAL drill program demonstrate the potential of this highly strategic asset, and we look forward to a future update to the mineral resource estimate both in terms of mineral resource quantity and classification.”

BELMONT, North Carolina, May 15, 2024 – Piedmont Lithium (“Piedmont” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq: PLL; ASX: PLL), a leading North American supplier of lithium products critical to the U.S. electric vehicle supply chain, today announced that new and expanded high-grade lithium mineralization zones have been identified at North American Lithium (“NAL”) in Quebec. NAL is jointly owned by Piedmont (25%) and Sayona Mining Limited (75%).
The results of the 2023 NAL drill program indicate the potential for a significant mineral resource upgrade and possible mine life extension. Multiple thick, high-grade spodumene-bearing pegmatites were discovered beyond current NAL pit operations and the planned pit shell model along the northwest, northeast, and southeast margins. The drill results support potential conversion of Inferred Resources to Measured and Indicated Resources within the pit shell model and could lead to additional resource definition below the pit shell model at depth.
“The drill program at North American Lithium demonstrates the potential for near-term upgrades to NAL’s resources and reserves,” said Keith Phillips, President and CEO of Piedmont Lithium. “We believe these results underscore the long-term potential of this important asset. NAL is the largest lithium operation in North America, and ramp-up is nearing completion. As an operating mine producing IRA-compliant spodumene concentrate, NAL is highly strategic and the possibility of an extension to mine life and/or an increase in annual production is very exciting.”

Piedmont shipped approximately 15,500 dmt of spodumene concentrate in Q1’24
Record quarterly production of 40,439 dmt achieved at NAL in Q1’24; steady-state operations targeted in H2’24
March production of 15,699 dmt, a new monthly record, with recoveries of 69%
Piedmont is targeting full-year shipments totaling approximately 126,000 dmt, weighted to H2’24
BELMONT, North Carolina, April 30, 2024 – Piedmont Lithium (“Piedmont” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq: PLL; ASX: PLL), a leading North American supplier of lithium products critical to the U.S. electric vehicle supply chain, today announced that it shipped approximately 15,500 dry metric tons (“dmt”) of spodumene concentrate in Q1’24 as North American Lithium (“NAL”) achieved new quarterly and monthly production records in its ongoing ramp up to steady-state operations. NAL is forecasted to achieve full run-rate production by H2’24.1 Based on this projection and per its offtake agreement, Piedmont expects to ship approximately 126,000 dmt of spodumene concentrate in 2024, weighted toward the second half of the year and with quarterly variations due to shipping logistics and customer requirements. The Company is prioritizing contract customer shipments to reduce reliance on volatile spot markets.
Q1’24 Operational Results Summary
In Q1’24, NAL produced 40,439 dmt and shipped 58,055 dmt, of which approximately 15,500 dmt of spodumene concentrate were sold to Piedmont via the Company’s offtake agreement and shipped to Piedmont customers. An approximately 13,200 dmt shipment held over from 2023, combined with our contracted 113,000 dmt annual offtake from NAL, underpins Piedmont’s plan for full-year shipments of approximately 126,000 dmt of spodumene concentrate in 2024.
NAL increased quarterly production by 18% in Q1’24 compared to the prior quarter. Safety performance also improved as NAL achieved its lowest quarterly recordable incident rate since the start of operations in March 2023.
Notably, March 2024 was a record production month at NAL with 15,699 dmt of spodumene concentrate produced and three daily production records set between 710 dmt and 750 dmt. Lithium recoveries also reached a record 69% during March 2024.
Construction of the crushed ore dome is materially completed with commissioning underway and expected to conclude in Q2’24. This capital project is expected to result in continued improvements in mill utilization and further increases in quarterly production levels.
“NAL is the largest producing spodumene operation in North America, and as such, is a tremendously strategic asset. We are pleased to see production continue to set quarterly records and hopeful that NAL will hit steady-state production targets with the commissioning of the crushed ore dome,” said Keith Phillips, President and CEO of Piedmont Lithium. “We are optimistic about the recent upturn in lithium prices, and we look forward to commencing regular shipments to our contract customers as the year progresses.”

I would like to thank the leadership and staff at NCDEQ and DEMLR for their diligence in the process, as well as the members of our team who worked rigorously for more than two and a half years to ensure that every aspect of the Project met the state’s high standards for approval,” said Piedmont Lithium President and CEO Keith Phillips. “We plan to develop Carolina Lithium as one of the lowest-cost, most sustainable lithium hydroxide operations in the world, and as a critical part of the American electric vehicle supply chain. The Project is expected to contribute billions of dollars of economic output and several hundred jobs to Gaston County and North Carolina’s growing electrification economy.
“Carolina Lithium is a highly strategic project,” continued Mr. Phillips. “Located within both the renowned Carolina Tin-Spodumene Belt and the U.S. Battery Belt, the Project is being designed as a fully integrated mining, spodumene concentrate, and lithium hydroxide manufacturing operation. There are currently no such integrated sites operating anywhere in the world, and the economic and environmental advantages of this strategy are compelling.
“Technical studies have demonstrated that Carolina Lithium could be a low-cost producer of spodumene concentrate and lithium hydroxide, benefitting from exceptional infrastructure, minimal transportation distances, low energy costs, a deep local talent pool, and proximity to cathode and battery customers as well as local markets for the monetization of by-product industrial minerals. The Project is further advantaged by the competitive corporate tax regime offered in the United States, the absence of significant royalties, and the benefits inherent in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. After-tax returns are what matter, and we are not aware of any jurisdiction that better combines the benefits of significant spodumene resources, deep customer markets, and low royalty and income tax rates.
“The North Carolina mining permit approval is the precursor for the county rezoning process, and we look forward to continued engagement with the local community and the Gaston County Board of Commissioners. Construction would commence following receipt of all required permits, rezoning approvals, and project financing activities. We have had extensive and ongoing dialogue with possible funding sources for Carolina Lithium, including the U.S. Department of Energy’s Loan Programs Office and strategic parties who could provide some combination of capital, offtake, and technical support,” said Mr. Phillips. “We have been encouraged by those discussions and will endeavor to put in place a strong funding plan that will maximize value for Piedmont shareholders.”
