The recent opening of our expanded corporate headquarters in Belmont, North Carolina, has provided Piedmont with a space to perform activities that – prior to our redomiciling to the United States – could only be accomplished remotely. The ability to gather in person in an office setting is opening new opportunities to explore internships for our professional and operational positions and expand the training resources available to employees.
In the second half of 2022, we will begin offering a combination of in-person and online training sessions for the following topics:
- Equal Employment Opportunity, Harassment, and Discrimination
- Complaint Filing Procedures
- Travel and Entertainment
- Business Ethics and Code of Conduct
- Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) Compliance
- No Child Labor
- Anti-Human Trafficking
Professional development is an important factor for job satisfaction. In 2022, we formalized our employee review and career development assessment programs. As we build our growth, training, and development programs, a long-term objective has been established to implement a robust annual survey process to assist Piedmont in determining how content employees are with various aspects of their job and working environment.
In the near term, we are working to implement a brief, quarterly pulse survey that will evaluate certain indicators of satisfaction. Topics will include, but are not limited to, benefits, teamwork and collaboration, the ability to share opinions with senior leadership, and our involvement in the community.
In July 2022, Piedmont employees and family members gathered in Gastonia, NC, at an employee appreciation event to cheer on the Gastonia Honey Hunters, the newest baseball team in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. The event was hosted to support our community and as a special thank you to employees in recognition of their contributions in helping us achieve critical operational milestones in our global portfolio of assets.
